Survey Support & As-Built Mapping
Atlas Mapping Solutions provides aerial LiDAR acquisition services that complement licensed land surveying workflows by delivering dense, control-validated geospatial datasets for topographic mapping, volumetrics, and engineering design support. Utilizing D-RTK 3 base station control with RTK positioning and PPK backup processing, we generate centimeter-level elevation datasets tied to survey control and supported by documented accuracy reporting. While boundary and legal determinations remain the responsibility of licensed surveyors, our LiDAR services significantly reduce field time and expand site coverage across complex project areas.

Control & Georeferencing: D-RTK 3 base station and onboard rover provide RTK positioning. If real-time correction is interrupted, PPK processing restores centimeter-level positional accuracy.
LiDAR vs Traditional Survey: Ground surveys require line-of-sight and extensive field work. Aerial LiDAR captures dense 3D data over large areas in a fraction of the time, tied to survey control through checkpoints.
Accuracy & Standards: Absolute horizontal and vertical RMSE values typically align with ASPRS Class 2 or better depending on baseline length and GNSS conditions. Vertical RMSE near 3 cm at 120 m AGL is achievable under optimal conditions.
Production: Large or complex sites can be mapped in a single flight. Post-processing and QA typically require 3–7 days per square mile.
Deliverables: High-density point clouds, control-validated DTMs, contours, breaklines, CAD deliverables, metadata, and structured accuracy statements.
When Traditional Survey is Required: Boundary and legal surveys must be performed by licensed surveyors. LiDAR supports these workflows by providing bulk terrain data and reducing manual field measurements.
